There was no better way to spend a Monday afternoon than with a friend, not just any friend, a friendship circle friend. As everyone slowly piled into the Chabad center, each volunteer and child dressed up in various costumes to have their picture taken together, in front of a classical “white board” just like the celebrities! Moving on, volunteers and friends decorated picture frames with tiles, markers, crayons, sticky note buttons, letters and just about any kinds of arts and crafts utensils possible! The pictures just taken, fitted perfectly in the middle of the custom designed frames.
Then came dancing! With our entertainer, Stephanie, leading the way. She showed us all different kinds of “professional” dance moves while popping bubbles. Everyone also got to lead a dance with their personalized moves. No way! No breaks yet. We all gathered around a parachute trying all sorts of ways to keep the ball on the chute while it bounced up and down. For the Grand finale…. to cool off after all the exciting activities, we had a scrumptious ice cream party to prepare ourselves for the holiday of Shavout that almost was approaching!
The volunteers stayed behind to receive a gift of appreciation for the love and devotion they share with their friendship circle friends on a weekly basis. Each volunteer received a custom made Friendship circle jersey to gear up for the wintery cold months ahead of us.
